WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Are you passionate about workplace safety and have a desire to be part of a successful team at a financial institution with on the job training? BHHC is looking for a Loss Control Representative (Trainee) who will be trained on-the-job with a goal to become a Loss Control Specialist within 12-18 months. once training has completed, the Loss Control Representative will have knowledge of a wide range of occupational operations; employee exposures to workplace hazards; knowledge of and ability to execute appropriate controls on exposures; and be familiar with applicable codes, laws and regulations; and be assigned a territory to provide loss control services for assigned clients in your territory. The territory for this role is Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah, but includes additional travel to other clients occasionally elsewhere in the US.
Successfully complete training and development program including quizzes, training classes and attend Workers Compensation and OSHA training classes
Become familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within LC field, as well as best practices in occupational safety & health
Travel alongside BHHC Loss Control Specialists in the field and provide consulting and training services to support the account
Conduct surveys, service visits and technical training to assigned accounts
Participate with the Loss Control team to develop and give presentations to clients, underwriters, other BHHC employees, brokers and LC vendors
HOW YOU'D FIT IN:
Graduate of four year college or university program in related fields (Safety/Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health,
Life Sciences, etc.)
0-2 years of experience in the insurance industry providing loss control or job-related safety services, preferably in workers’ compensation insurance
Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Occupational Safety and Health Technologist (OHST), or similar certification preferred.
Ability to travel (with an overnight stay) approximately 20-25% of the time
Valid Driver's License, required
