RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide high-quality project support on environmental assessments, environmental compliance, and permitting projects.
Understand and support fieldwork, including that related to assessment and compliance ( sediment, groundwater, and surface water).
Perform environmental compliance assessments and support follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, provincial and local regulations.
Support the development of and adherence to EHS compliance and management system programs.
Work directly with clients to support data management and improvement initiatives
Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
Compile, evaluate and manage environmental data.
Assist in review of daily and weekly reports from environmental inspectors or environmental consultants.
Perform multiple project tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Communicate positively and professionally with EHSCity employees, clients and other consultants.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in environmental, engineering or related field.
Recent graduate to 2 years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships.
Understanding of provincial environmental regulations (BC experience is an asset)
Excellent written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet).
Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Proactive, results- and team-oriented attitude. Effective interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment.
Mature judgement and capacity to work collaboratively with others in a team setting.
Must be flexible and able to work overtime when necessary.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Local candidates preferred.
